SALT LAKE CITY — A person was arrested Wednesday and accused of attempting to secretly movie a girl in a division retailer dressing room final fall.
Erik Gerardo Betancourt-Alvarado, 48, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of voyeurism.
Police say the incident occurred on Sept. 16 at Nordstrom Rack, 2210 S. 1300 East. A girl was in a dressing room when she “noticed the cellphone underneath the stall and believed it to be recording from a pink mild on the system. The sufferer confronted the male and requested why he was recording her within the dressing room,” a police reserving affidavit states.
The person shortly exited the shop. The girl notified a retailer worker who adopted Betancourt-Alvarado and received an image of his license plate as he drove off, the affidavit states.
Utilizing that info, along with surveillance video, Salt Lake police detectives later recognized the person as Betancourt-Alvarado due partially to his tattoos, in accordance with the affidavit. He was situated, questioned and arrested on Wednesday.
