Southern Utah couple accused of supplying medication that killed pregnant lady

CEDAR CITY — A Cedar Metropolis couple has been charged and accused of suppling fentanyl to a pregnant lady who died of a drug overdose.

John Parry, 39, and Kimberly Daybreak Hare, 33, have been every charged Monday in fifth District Courtroom with manslaughter, a second-degree felony; drug distribution, a first-degree felony; and drug possession and three counts of kid endangerment, third-degree felonies.

The investigation started April 20 when Cedar Metropolis police responded to a lady, who was 21-weeks pregnant, who was having a “cardiac arrest” and was “not respiratory or responsive,” in line with a police reserving affidavit.

“Witnesses have been yelling at officers stating that she wanted Narcan (nalaxone). Officers discovered one foil with two blue capsules resembling fentanyl. One other foil was discovered on the ground with burn residue and one blue tablet barely burnt in it subsequent to the sufferer,” the affidavit states. “Brokers with the (Iron County) Drug Activity Power started investigating because of the reality it was a fentanyl overdose that killed her.”

Investigators acquired a number of suggestions stating that Hare “is a fentanyl vendor in Cedar Metropolis” and bought the medication to the girl that killed her, in line with the affidavit.
