Burkina Faso extends army rule by 5 years


Burkina Faso’s army authorities has introduced it would prolong its rule for an additional 5 years.

The nation’s ruler, Capt Ibrahim Traoré, will even be capable of contest the subsequent presidential election, the state-owned broadcaster says.

When he seized energy in a coup almost two years in the past, Capt Traore pledged to revive the civilian authorities by 1 July this 12 months.

However Burkina Faso has now joined neighbouring Mali in extending its rule by the army.
