Westbound I-80 in Salt Lake County reopens after wrong-way collision

MAGNA — Westbound I-80 was closed for a number of hours in Salt Lake County because of a crash involving a driver touring the fallacious method on Monday afternoon, in response to state troopers.

Utah Freeway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden mentioned troopers obtained stories of a “reckless driver” who left the highway to the appropriate, did a U-turn and reentered the freeway touring the fallacious method. The automobile then collided head-on with a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer, he mentioned.

The driving force of the wrong-way automobile was transported by way of medical helicopter to a hospital in critical situation, Roden mentioned. There have been minor accidents to not less than one occupant of the pickup truck.
