A professional-independence chief within the French Pacific territory of New Caledonia has been charged following lethal riots final month.
Christian Tein, head of the group CCAT (“area motion coordination cell”), was arrested on Wednesday alongside a number of others. CCAT is accused of organising the protests that descended into violence.
9 individuals together with two cops had been been killed and a whole bunch extra wounded after riots, looting and arson gripped the archipelago.
