Incident of Dog Attacking Police Horse

The video, recorded by Jordan Robertson, captures the moment a dog approached a police horse after slipping away from its owner. The dog attacked the horse’s legs, prompting the horse to jump and the officer to attempt to shoo the dog away. This incident highlights the unpredictable nature of animals and the importance of keeping pets under control in public spaces.

Quick Action by the Owner

The dog’s owner quickly managed to grab the leash and de-escalate the situation. This swift intervention prevented any serious harm to both the dog and the horse. The owner’s quick thinking and prompt action ensured that a potentially dangerous situation was resolved without injury.

Eyewitness Account of the Dog Attack

Jordan Robertson, from Govan, Glasgow, described the scene: “A dog ran away from its owner to chase a police horse. In the video, the dog snaps at the horse’s legs, and the horse jumps around while onlookers try to intervene. This occurred outside the TRNSMT festival in Glasgow Green.”

Was It Playful or Aggressive?

Jordan added, “The dog saw the police horse and started chasing it. Although it seemed like the dog was playing, the policewoman riding the horse was understandably upset due to the risk of being thrown off and injured.” This incident raises questions about the behavior of dogs around larger animals and the need for proper training and restraint.

Importance of Controlling Pets

This event serves as a reminder of the importance of controlling pets in public areas, especially during large gatherings like festivals. Owners should ensure their pets are on a leash and well-behaved to prevent such incidents. Public safety can be compromised when pets are not properly managed, leading to potential injuries and disruptions.
