Kamala Harris’ marketing campaign has rejected the suggestion that Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro was missed as her operating mate due to his Jewish religion.
Representatives stated that the claims have been “ridiculous and offensive” and that the vp would “at all times fight antisemitism each time and wherever she sees it.”
Harris introduced that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz can be becoming a member of the Democratic ticket on Tuesday. Shapiro, who’s Jewish, was amongst a number of others tipped to be within the operating.
Some critics steered that Shapiro had been sidelined due to his religion. Former Harvard legislation professor and controversial lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, wrote on X:”Did Harris reject Shapiro as a result of progressives don’t like that he’s Jewish?”

In an announcement to the Jewish Telegraphic Company, a Harris spokesperson vehemently rejected the accusation that Shapiro’s religion or stances on Israel was a consideration.
“Assertions that Vice President Harris didn’t choose Gov. Shapiro based mostly on his faith or views on Israel are completely ridiculous and offensive,” the assertion stated.

On Tuesday evening, Shapiro appeared forward of Harris and Walz at their debut rally in Philadelphia and gave his full help.
