ST. GEORGE — A center faculty counselor was arrested in Nevada final week for investigation of crimes he’s accused of committing over a decade in the past in Washington County.
David Scott Curtis, 54, was arrested by officers in Mesquite, Nevada, on March 21, after Washington County authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. Curtis was charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a minor for allegations stemming from St. George, Mesquite Police Sgt. Wyatt Oliver stated in a press release.
On the time of the arrest, Curtis was employed as a faculty counselor at Charles A. Hughes Center College in Mesquite. The varsity is a part of the Clark County College District in Nevada, which additionally covers the Las Vegas space.
Oliver informed St. George Information the district was unaware of any allegations in opposition to Curtis till the day the warrant was issued. As soon as it confirmed the knowledge with St. George detectives, he stated officers went on to the center faculty to arrest him.
