WASHINGTON — A Georgia decide on Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s bid to dismiss prison fees within the state’s 2020 election interference case towards him, which the Republican former president argued violated his free speech rights.
Fulton County Superior Court docket Choose Scott McAfee discovered that the indictment alleges statements by Trump and 14 others charged within the case had been made “in furtherance of prison exercise” and usually are not protected by the First Modification to the U.S. Structure.
Trump and the opposite defendants have been charged with racketeering and different offenses over an alleged effort to overturn Trump’s defeat in Georgia to Democratic President Joe Biden. They’ve pleaded not responsible.
