Brooke Shields, 58, discusses staying sexualized as a child actor but states she was ‘lucky’ to have a ‘strong mom and community’ to guard her: ‘Hollywood eats its young’

Brooke Shields talked about staying a sexualized as a little one actor and the perils of growing up in Hollywood as she marked International Women’s Day on Friday by showing up on a panel at SXSW.

Shields, 58, who joined Meghan Markle and longtime news anchor Katie Couric to discuss  ‘breaking barriers’ and ‘women’s illustration, explained she was at the ‘center’ of young women of all ages staying sexualized in Hollywood and that her mother and group had guarded her from predators.
