Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has opened up about how she got comfortable filming the shows spicier scenes.
Coughlan said that although she had some initial nerves about filming sex scenes for season three alongside her co-star Luke Newton, she came to find it liberating.
Eventually, the actress felt so comfortable that she requested that she be “very naked” for a particular scene.

“I specifically asked for certain lines and moments to be included,” Coughlan told Stylist. “There’s one scene where I’m very naked on camera, and that was my idea, my choice. It just felt like the biggest ‘f— you’ to all the conversation surrounding my body; it was amazingly empowering.
“I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f—ing hot I looked!'”

She shared that although it took a minute, through working closely with the show’s intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot, she was able to dive into what she was comfortable with.
“You go, ‘Ok, what do I want to show? What don’t I want to show,” she said. “‘What’s scripted, and what do I want to add?'”
Season three of Bridgerton premieres on Netflix on Thursday, May 16. Speaking recently with 9honey Celebrity, Coughlan shared that she and Newton are bracing themselves for the audience’s reaction to the highly anticipated season.
”It’s a lot, you know, it’s terrifying,” she said. “It’s eight months of shooting, it’s just exhausting at times, relentless, it’s wonderful, but it is a real labour of love.”

She continued, “I keep using a sports analogy for this and it’s hilarious because I know nothing about sports, but I really feel like we left it all on the pitch.”
She said that if given the chance, she and Newton “wouldn’t change a thing” about the upcoming season.
“I don’t think we could have done any more,” she said. “And watching it back I feel that.”
