Sophie Turner says that Taylor Swift has been a ‘hero’ for her while she was undergoing divorce from Joe Jonas
During her conversation with British Vogue, the 28-year-old Game of Thrones alum recalled how the global pop sensation, Taylor Swift extended a helping hand to her when she was going through a difficult phase and immense media scrutiny last year. Sophie’s friendship with the Love Story singer became the talk of the town, as the latter had briefly dated Joe Jonas. Just days after announcing her divorce, Sophie was spotted coming out of an Italian restaurant, Via Carota, in New York City, locking her arms with Taylor Swift. Recalling how the singer became her saviour, Sophie said:
“Taylor was an absolute hero to me this year. I’ve never been more grateful to anyone than I am for her because she took my children and me, and provided us with a home and a safe space. She really has a heart of gold.”

Joe Jonas’ relationship with Taylor Swift
Joe Jonas was the first famous boyfriend that Taylor Swift had in her life. The two dated back in 2008 and when their relationship abruptly ended, it left the latter shattered. During her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor revealed that Joe broke up with her over a 27-second phone call. Moreover, this heartbreak also became her inspiration behind the song, Forever and Always.

In the same interview, Sophie also opened up about her dating life. For those who don’t know, the 28-year-old British actress started dating British aristocrat, Peregrine Pearson shortly after finalising her divorce, while Joe moved on with American model Stormi Bree. Sophie even made her relationship Instagram official in January 2024 when she posted pictures with Peregrine and her friends from her ski trip. Sharing that she’s having fun dating, Sophie added:
“I am having fun dating. It’s very fun. I mean, it’s strange when you get married so young. It’s like you never really learn how to date. So, it’s all very new to me.”

Sophie Turner shares that Joe Jonas is a great father
Furthermore, Sophie said that the key to a healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise, is communication. The actress shared that she, along with her friends, has started having conversations where they share everything that has been going on in their minds and sort things out. Sophie also talked about having a healthy co-parenting system for her daughters, Willa and Delphine, with her former husband, Joe. Sharing that the American singer has been a great father, Sophie added:
“I’m unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children. They’re the victims in all of this. But I think we’re doing the best we can. I’m confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children, and that’s all that I can ask for.”
