Bhansali Reveals What Kind Of Equation He Shared With Salman Khan After ‘Inshallah’ Got Shelved

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most talented filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. The filmmaker recently made everyone go gaga with his craft in his debut web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. While he has received a lot of flak for the series, the project was enough to send his fans into a collective meltdown. Recently, Sanjay sat for an interview, wherein he talked about his true actor friend from the industry, who is none other than Salman Khan.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali shares that Salman Khan is his true actor friend

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that he just loves his actors and, in general, a director’s relationship with his actors should be of friendship. SLB further revealed that one of the actors with whom he is still friends is none other than Salman Khan. Talking about the same, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that although a project between them got shelved, the two are still friends with one another. For the unversed, Salman and SLB collaborated on two of the films, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya. Back in 2019, the duo was to collaborate on a film, Inshallah, with Alia Bhatt, but it could not happen.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali talks about his friendship with Salman Khan

In the same interview, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed Salman provides him with true friendship. He said that although they had had their moments while working, and things might not have fallen to pieces. Salman called him one month later and vice versa. The filmmaker added that although they speak once every six months, they go back to there where they ended, and it feels the same. Bhansali said that this is what true friendship is all about. SLB said:

“That is what a true friend is all about. At work, we may have had our moments and things might not have fallen into place, but after one month, he’s calling me, and I’m calling him, and we talk. That is a friend. In that sense, I’m fortunate enough to have that friend who, once in 6 months, we’ll speak, and we’ll start exactly from where we left off. But mostly, I love all of them when I’m working with them.”

Yet, in another interview with Pinkvilla, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that he enjoys laughter and his very own one-liners. The filmmaker also accepted that he likes it when someone cracks jokes or makes up straight-faced humour. The prolific director added that he comes up with the best jokes when he is angry. Speaking along the same lines, SLB added that he enjoys his work as he loves to laugh and make people laugh.

Going forward in the interview, Sanjay Leela Bhansali mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are witty, funny, and sharp. Sharing Salman’s reaction to his film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that if the whole galaxy is watching the latter’s film, only the word ‘hmm’ will come out of it. That’s the amount of humour the director brings. Recalling Salman’s words, Bhansali added:

“Salman once told me that if one sees your film, unanimously if the whole Gaiety Galaxy is sitting together, you’ll only hear one ‘hmmh’ come out. That’s the amount of laughter you give in your film.”
