Mandy Moore is pregnant with her third child! The star, 40, reveals the gender of the baby she is expecting with husband Taylor Goldsmith

Mandy Moore shared on Friday that she is expecting a third child with husband Taylor Goldsmith.

The 40-year-old This Is Us actress already has two kids with her musician spouse: sons Gus, two, and Ozzie, one.

The announcement was made on Instagram as she posted a photo of Gus with a shirt that said ‘big’ and Ozzie with a top that read, ‘middle.’

‘Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon. Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister,’ Mandy wrote in her Instagram caption confirming she is expecting a daughter.

‘Life imitates art’ refers to her This Is Us character.

This comes after she said she was once told she she had a slim chance of getting pregnant. 

She revealed in an Instagram post a doctor cast a negative light on her possibly of being a mother.

The This is Us alum posted a photo of herself as a child with her cats by her side as she shared her story.

Mandy – who looked radiant in a red sparkly dress at the Critics Choice Awards – began, ‘I’ve always wanted to be a mom.

‘Before bringing my two boys into the world with my love, @taylordawesgoldsmith, I was a mom to many many cats and at times, just as many dogs (and admittedly today, I still am),’ her caption began.

Then she shared: ‘But there was a time when I thought I might not be able to have kids. I remember when the doctor told me there was a slim chance of getting pregnant… and then lo and behold to our surprise, I became pregnant with Gus.’

She then shared how much she liked being a mother. 

‘Motherhood is a beautiful, messy, sleepless gift and to have two kiddos under two…whew!!!,’ she said.

And she revealed that her role on This Is Us helped her get ready to be a mom.

‘Playing Rebecca on #ThisIsUs actually prepared me for it a bit — like changing a diaper for the first time and running around set with “triplets,”‘ she said.

She went on to say she realizes that she won’t ‘get it right’ all of the time. 

‘Rebecca Pearson said it best: “It’s my job to keep standing there with my arms wide open, waiting for you to maybe someday fall inside if you needed it,”‘ she wrote.

‘And if you do, I’ll love you. And if you don’t I’ll love you too — because that’s what it means to be a parent. 

‘You’ll see one day,’ she added.

‘And to that I say, Rebecca, I see it! #ThisIsUs and #ThatWasUs @thatwasus.’

Previously, the A Walk to Remember star talked about the medical issues she had with her uterus that led to her doctor telling her she may not ever be able to get pregnant. 

So she had surgery to attempt to fix the issues, which may have been endometriosis. 

‘Because of this issue with my uterus, I was very hesitant to believe it and put any stock in it,’ she said in a 2021 interview with Romper. ‘I sort of was holding my breath until 12 weeks.’ 

And with the birth of Ozzie, she got real about the challenges of being mom to two kids under two with E! News. At the time she said she did not rule out having a third child.

‘I honestly don’t know if you can do it all but as a mom, as a working mom, I’m trying my level best,’ she noted.

‘And I try to just sort of have grace for myself and recognize that each day is going to throw a different obstacle my way and just to sort of find my way through it. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.’
