Andy Cohen calls Real Housewives of New Jersey finale the ‘Last Supper’ as he addresses shock decision to AXE season 14 reunion of Bravo show

Andy Cohen provided context on Monday behind the announcement that season 14 of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey will not have a traditional reunion.

The 56-year-old executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise and host of the reunions called in to SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Kiki Monique to offer details on the decision.

‘I do want to give some context to the announcement over the weekend that there was gonna be no Jersey reunion because I feel like there are a lot of theories about what this could mean. I think that the main thing is this will all make sense once you see the finale. It is one of those classic Jersey finales that people will be talking about for a long time to come,’ Andy said.

‘And when all of us producers saw the last cut of the finale, we all came to the decision separately and then we talked. We all had the same thought, which is the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one,’ he added.

‘It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete. I really do,’ Andy continued.

Andy added that Bravo was ‘cooking up’ something in place of a reunion, but it has not yet been announced.

He described the current season as ‘really catching fire’ and said he wanted to fill in some of the blanks about the reunion.

Andy said they normally would be taping the reunion in a few weeks and were letting the cast know they would not be filming a reunion.

‘And of course it leaked as things do,’ Andy said.

Season 14 of the Bravo reality recently showed Rachel Fuda, 33, squaring off against Teresa Giudice, 52, during a group brunch.

Rachel and Teresa have been feuding since the season premiere when Teresa at a birthday party said that Rachel’s husband John ‘was ‘the biggest drug dealer in Bergen County’ after accusing him of harming the reputation of her husband Luis ‘Louie’ Ruelas, 49.

Teresa and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, 45, also have been feuding and do not speak to each other while filming the Bravo show.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s current and 14th season premiered on May 5.

The current cast also includes Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Danielle Cabral and Jennifer Aydin with Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Fessler appearing in a friends role.

An insider told People, ‘A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season final that there is no path forward in that type of setting.’

‘So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season,’ the source familiar with the situation told the outlet.

The source says the ongoing drama between the cast members is what has caused the rift that lead the RHONJ to have split panels at BravoCon for the past two years.

Another insider told PEOPLE that Bravo has yet to make a decision about RHONJ moving forward.

‘Everything and anything is on the table,’ the insider admitted, noting that ‘all options are being discussed and nothing official about the show has been decided.’

Cast members have been pointing fingers at each other with Rachel’s husband John Fuda telling the outlet: ‘The damaging lies…. are not rooted in reality.’

The Real Housewives Of New York City was entirely rebooted for its fourteenth season that premiered in July 2023.
