Riley Keough helped completed mum Lisa Marie Presley’s memoir

Lisa Marie Presley‘s memoir will be released posthumously later this year, with the title and cover being revealed for the first time on Tuesday.

The book, titled From Here to the Great Unknown, is going to be released in October after daughter Riley Keough helped finish it following her mother’s shock death last year.

The memoir features a photo of Lisa Marie as a child in the arms of her father – Elvis Presley.

The book’s forward reveals Lisa Marie first asked for her daughter’s help writing the rest of her memoir back in 2022, according to People magazine.

While the Graceland website says not doing so at the time Lisa Marie asked, made Keogh feel “guilty” in the aftermath of her death, prompting her to finish the task.

”Like most of us do with asks from our parents, Riley pushed off the project, feeling that there would be a right time for them to sit down together and finish it,” they explained.

“But, after Lisa Marie’s unexpected death last year, Riley carried a guilt that the world would never know the loving, joyful, and caring woman that she knew and grieved.”

Keough listened to ”countless hours of tape her mother had recorded for the book” to put From Here to the Great Unknown together.

“She listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs at Graceland, just the two of them, a sanctuary from the chaos of her life,” the statement from earlier this year notes.

“About growing up with the clicking cameras perpetually at the door. About her own wild love stories, and her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. About motherhood and the shattering loss of her son, Riley’s brother Benjamin Keough, to suicide.

“This extraordinary book will be composed mostly of Lisa Marie’s words, in her voice, with Riley filling in the blanks from her own memory and those closest to her mother.”

Keough said she felt “a privilege” in being able to bring her mother’s story to the wider public.

“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mum really was, other than being Elvis’s daughter,” Keough said in a statement earlier this year announcing the project.

“I was lucky to have had that opportunity and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.

“I’m so excited to share my mum now, at her most vulnerable and most honest, and in doing so, I do hope that readers come to love my mum as much as I did.”

The memoir promises to be “profoundly moving and deeply reverting” according to the statement and will have an audiobook version narrated by Keough.

Lisa Marie died at the age of 54, in January 2023, due to complications resulting from small bowel obstruction.

From Here to the Great Unknown will be released worldwide on October 15.
