Why Olivia Munn Was “Devastated” Around Reconstructive Breast Medical procedures

Olivia Munn continues to be sincere about the realities of her health journey. 

Considering the fact that sharing her breast cancer analysis publicly in March, the Newsroom alum has been open about the ups and downs of her treatment method and recovery—including her complicated inner thoughts about her double mastectomy and subsequent reconstructive surgeries. 

“I cried a week immediately after, due to the fact that was the 1st time I observed my breasts,” she reported throughout the June 4 episode of the SheMD podcast, noting she experienced expanders in at the time—a tool to permit breasts to recover subsequent surgical procedures right before the implants are positioned. “I was by myself in my rest room, and I seemed at them, and I cried in a way that I really don’t assume I’ve at any time cried in my everyday living. I cried. I was devastated. I just I didn’t understand myself.”

The 43-12 months-old—who shares son Malcolm, 2, with John Mulaney—also defined that since her surgeons had to remove so much of her breast tissue, she would have to go with the larger implant to fill the pores and skin. 

“I failed to want to have large breasts,” Olivia reported. “You think, ‘I’m in this article.’ All I treatment about is that I am alive and I’m in this article for my baby. But putting that to the side, 1 day individuals will forget about or not know, or probably I will by no means explain to people that I experienced most cancers, but they’re going to search at me and go, ‘Oh, what a undesirable boob occupation. Oh, appear at her.'”
