Amy Poehler blossoms in floral dress while Maya Hawke stuns in green crushed velvet gown as they lead stars at Disney’s Inside Out 2 premiere in LA

Amy Poehler and Maya Hawke were among a number of glamorous stars who attended the premiere of Disney’s Inside Out 2, at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, on Monday. 

The SNL alum, 52, looked summer-ready in a floor-length dress with a bright floral pattern throughout. Her platinum blonde strands were parted in the middle and worn down for the occasion.

Meanwhile Maya, 25 — daughter of Hollywood stars Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke — stunned in a crushed green velvet gown.

The Stranger Things star’s dress also featured a delicate white floral pattern on it. Maya is the voice of Anxiety while Poehler is Joy in Disney and Pixar’s animated sequel. 

The premise of the film follows protagonist Riley ‘in her teenage years, encountering new emotions,’ per an official IMDB synopsis. 

Maya completed her look with strappy sandal heels and wore her brunette tresses in a ponytail. 

Ashlee Simpson, 39, made the event a family outing, stepping out with husband Evan Ross, 35, and kids Ziggy Blu, three, Jagger Snow, eight, and Bronx Mowgli, 15.

She shares Jagger and Ziggy with Evan, whom she married in 2014, and Bronx with her ex-husband Pete Wentz, 45.

Ashlee looked chic in an all-white look, while Evan contrasted her in a casual black outfit. 

Also present was Sofie Dossi, 22, who put on a leggy display in a pastel blue slip mini dress with lace details. She added height to her frame with white platform heels that showed off her matching pedicure.

Grace Lu opted for a skintight bring pink mini dress and stylish silver heels, while Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green wowed in a lilac ensemble and white platform heels.

The stylish gals also posed for a snap together.

Allison Holker, 36, had all eyes on her in a light pink mini dress and unique beige handbag.

Yvette Nicole Brown, 52, looked chic in a geometric print light blue dress. She added sparkle to her outfit with dangling earrings.

She was joined by fiancé Anthony Davis. Anthony looked dapper in a blue suit jacket, grey t-shirt, salmon pants and brown shoes. 

Kensington Tallman wowed in a baroque fabric sleeveless gown and gold heels.

Derek Hough, 39, was joined by stunning wife Hayley Erbert. While the Dancing with the Stars alum opted for a pink suit and black shirt, his wife sizzled in a green sequin mini dress.

Lilimar, 24, flashed a hint of her toned midriff in a trendy black suit with a crop top underneath.

Xochitl Gomez, 18, looked lovely in a lilac tweed dress with large crystal buttons and a white button-up underneath.

To complete her look she wore white socks and chunky black loafers.

The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star further sparkled up her look with a shimmering silver purse.

Jamie Miller looked handsome as ever in a light green blazer and black slacks.

Also present at the premiere were Loren Lott and Jazmine Robinson, who showed off their unique and fun looks.

Comedian Paula Poundstone, 64, put on a very colorful display in a pink and white pinstripe suit.

Frank Oz, 80, cut a casual figure in a blue shirt teamed with black jacket and matching pants.

James Austin Johnson, 34, wore a short-sleeve black shirt and beige pants.

June Squibb, 94, looked elegant as ever in a black outfit with a colorful floral silk jacket. 

John Stamos, 60, rocked a tan suit with a Mickey Mouse shirt underneath. 

Emily Nelson was a vision in a yellow dress and white heels.  

Other celebrities that starred in the project include Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Tony Hale as Fear, Lewis Beck as Anger and Liza Lapira as Disgust. 

The sequel to the 2015 movie was announced at the D23 Expo back in September 2022. At the time, Amy opened up about the film and the plot while talking to People.

‘At the very end if the original, Joy has that great moment where she’s like, “Finally, everything the way it’s supposed to be.” Then we see that big puberty button, “Should we press this?”‘

The star continued, ‘We do press it in the second movie. In some ways, Inside Out set itself up for a sequel and we’re going there.’

‘We’re going to have what it feels like to be a teenager, the new emotions that live inside a young person’s brain.’

She added, ‘In many ways, it was really exciting. We knew exactly where we were. We go to the teen brain and we see the madness that lives inside there.’

Inside Out (2015) notably received critical acclaim upon its release in theaters and was a box office hit.

The project was made on a budget of $175 million and raked in around $858.8 million globally.

The film also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature while also being nominated for Best Original Screenplay. It also received a BAFTA and Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature in 2016.

Following the first film’s release, it was no surprise that Disney cashed in with a slew of merchandise and toys, including a plush character inspired by Sadness.

The sequel is set to hit theaters on June 14.
