Kartik Aaryan has carved a niche in the Hindi film industry with his top-notch performances in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Luka Chuppi, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and many more. Meanwhile, the 33-year-old is currently basking in the success of his latest release Chandu Champion, which hit the theatres on June 14, 2024. Kartik Aaryan refused to name ‘overrated’ actor in industry
Kartik Aaryan appeared on the sixth season of Karan Johar’s popular talk show, Koffee With Karan, alongwith his Luka Chuppi co-star, Kriti Sanon. During one of the segments of the show, the host asked Kartik to name an overrated actor in the industry. The actor politely refused to name anyone and reasoned that he is relatively new in the industry. In his words:
“Abhi abhi chalu kiya hoon kaam. Kisi ko overrated bolna matlab…”

Karan Johar revealed that Badshah called Kartik Aaryan an ‘overrated’ actor
As Kartik was about to finish his sentence, Karan cut him off and said, “But people have called you overrated on this couch.” The actor was visibly in shock after hearing such a thing and added, “Sir, koi overrated kyu bolega kisi ko?” He further inquired who had said that about him. To which Karan promptly replied, “Badshah.”
Kartik Aaryan was taken aback by KJo’s revelation
Kartik was surprised by the revelation, and rightfully so! However, he did not shy away from disclosing one past conversation he had with Badshah, where the rapper had heaped praise on his performances. Sharing that he appreciated his music, Kartik revealed:
“I really appreciate his music, and I mean he is the one who called me and said after Sonu that ‘Paaji, I love your work’, and I loved Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, and meri poori family aapki fan hai. I don’t know why he said that but I really love his music.”

When Badshah called Kartik Aryan overrated
Earlier, in the same KWK season, Badshah graced the couch with Diljit Dosanjh. During the rapid-fire round, Karan asked Badshah to name one overrated actor from the industry. The rapper took Kartik Aaryan’s name. Further, when KJo asked him to name an overrated actress, Badshah simply couldn’t name one.

This clip was shared by an Instagram page on their feed, netizens have reacted to this incident. While a segment praised Kartik’s cand lassy act, others called out KJo. One user said, “Love the way Karthik answered. He was raised with a lot of kindness and grace.” Another netizen penned, “Badshah overrated kya singer hai hi nhi.” Meanwhile, a third user mentioned, “Karan is that mohalle wali aunty who gossips.”
