However, earlier reports suggested otherwise, as it was claimed that Shubman might have had some problems with Rohit and the management team since he was released from the squad owing to some speculated issues. And now, Shubman has reacted to the same in style.
Shubman Gill reacts to the rumours about him unfollowing Rohit Sharma from IG
A few days ago, reports claimed that Shubman Gill had unfollowed Rohit Sharma from his IG handle. The speculations were around that Shubman’s IG activity was due to the fact that he was released from team India’s squad. However, reacting to the same, Shubman recently took to his IG handle and posted a photo that featured him with the captain, Rohit Sharma.

In the photo, the Indian players were seen posing alongside one another. While Rohit looked handsome in an orange T-shirt, Shubman looked handsome in a white shirt. In one of the photos, Rohit can be seen carrying his baby girl in his arms as he posed with Shubman. Moreover, it was the cricketer’s caption that caught our attention. Taking a dig at all the rumours, Shubman penned:
“Sammy and I learning the art of discipline from @rohitsharma45.”
Why was Rinku Singh not released from team India’s squad, but Subhman Gill?
For the unversed, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Rinku Singh flew to the USA with the Men In Blue, but reports were rife that, except for the latter, the former two players had been released from team India’s T-20 World Cup. Such a report further created curiosity among the fans when it was reported that it was due to some discipline issue that Shubman was released from the team. According to some sources, Gill remained busy with his personal work rather than required professional involvement and contribution, which caused a disagreement between him and the team management as well as with Rohit Sharma.

Recently, a senior BCCI source debunked all such false allegations and revealed the real reason why Shubman was released. The source told PTI that both Shubman and Avesh Khan were supposed to stay with the squad till the Group League stage of the T-20 World Cup 2024. On the other hand, Rinku is there as he can be an option to replace anyone in the team if required, whereas Shubman could only replace the openers, and for the same, team India already has Yashasvi Jaiswal.
