Britney Spears mentions Justin Timberlake’s ex Cameron Diaz while dancing in swimsuit – after his shock DWI arrest

Britney Spears gave a nod to Justin Timberlake’s ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz after the NSYNC alum’s shock DWI arrest earlier this week.

The Toxic hitmaker, 42, took to Instagram on Thursday to upload a new dance video and joked in the caption that she had ‘”Something About Mary” hair.’

Diaz — who began dating Timberlake after his and Spears’ 2002 split — famously starred as dream girl Mary Jensen in the 1998 rom-com There’s Something About Mary.

Spears was referring to the film’s infamous ‘hair-gel scene’ where Mary’s bangs defy gravity after mistaking love interest Ted Stroehmann’s (played by Ben Stiller’s) sperm for hair-gel.

‘I have no idea what’s going on with the hair but obviously the “something about Mary” hair is a hit,’ wrote Spears, whose own bangs looked extra voluminous in the clip.

The mother-of-two — who is currently enjoying another Las Vegas getaway — whipped her hair around while dancing in her hotel suite.

She rocked a cheetah-print bathing suit with a deep V-neckline and a tiny black bikini top underneath. 

Spears styled her sexy swimwear with black suede boots.

 ‘… I haven’t danced in a really long time so I was just playing around in my cheetah bathing suit !!! A little movement and the left field piano,’ she continued in her caption, along with a string of colorful emojis.

‘… oh well … It was either make that or another grilled cheese !!!’ the Grammy Award-winner concluded.

Spears and Timberlake split in 2022 following a tumultuous two-year relationship that was allegedly plagued by infidelity as well as a secret abortion.

In 2003, Timberlake moved on with Diaz after a flirty run-in at that year’s Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles. They dated until 2007 and Timberlake began seeing his now-wife Jessica Biel just months later.

Timberlake shocked fans this week when it was revealed that he’d been arrested in Sag Harbor for drunk driving on Tuesday night.

And just hours after the news broke, Spears broke her silence by appearing to throw shade at her ex-boyfriend.

She toasted ‘to the little things’ in life while showing off a fruity cocktail on Instagram as she lounged at her Las Vegas hotel. 

‘It’s the little things you know !!!!’ captioned the star.

At the same time, a video from 2007 of Timberlake seemingly warning Spears to ‘stop drinking’ went viral in wake of his drunk driving debacle.

The video captures Timberlake accepting a Brit Award in a pre-recorded speech, ‘Stop drinking. You know who you are. I’m speaking to you. Stop drinking, you’re going to get sloppy. OK! is going to say something bad about you.’

Spears was under heavy scrutiny at the time of his remarks and infamously shaved her head just two days after the awards show.

But Timberlake subsequently insisted the remarks weren’t about Spears in an interview with GQ, and a representative for the Cry Me A River singer said he was merely referencing ‘people in the crowd, no one in particular,’ according to Fox News.

But many have interpreted the remarks to be about Spears, and the video resurfaced in light of his own arrest for DWI.

Fans weighed in on the video on X, with one person tweeting: ‘And 17 years later, it ended up being him eating his own words, you reap what you sow.’

‘As we learned from the religious, hypocrites make the very best scolds,’ another posted.

‘That didn’t age well,’ one observed.

Another cited his song What Goes Around… Comes Around: ‘He should listen to his own song.’

‘Karma has been served,’ one tweeted.

Spears dated Timberlake from 1999 to 2002.

Timberlake has been feeling the wrath of Britney fans for the last few years, particularly following the release of her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me.

The book contained a series of explosive revelations about their romance: revealing he urged her to have an abortion when she fell pregnant and that he made her look like a ‘harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy’.

Timberlake was trolled by Spears fans as her side of the story finally came out two decades on and The Britney Army have continued to support her now.

In January her fans sent her 2011 song Selfish back up the charts after her ex dropped his new single with the same name.

Selfish (Justin’s version) was the lead single on his new album Everything I Thought It Was, his first studio album since 2018’s Man Of The Woods.

Spears made multiple accusations against her ex Justin in her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me, including criticizing his 2002 track Cry Me a River for how it made her look.

‘He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.

‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.’

Ahead of launching into the hit song, he told the audience: ‘No disrespect.’
