“What makes you think I did not give Reena the breathing space? But if Miss Reena Roy cares only for Mr. Shatrughan Sinha, why should anybody else have any objections? Decades after all the madness of his love triangle, Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about her father’s relationship with Reena Roy. In an interview with Masala, the doting daughter shared her views on her father’s famous affair with Reena Roy and clearly stated that she wasn’t going to crucify her father for it.

Sonakshi Sinha added that just like everybody, her father also had a past and she never thought too much about it. The actress also stated that these things are good for the headlines of juicy gossip columns and nothing more than that. Sonakshi explained:

“I think it happened when I was not even born. I found out when I was growing up and started understanding things. But I’m not going to crucify my father for something he did years back. It is his past, and everybody has a past. So I don’t think too much about it. Nor do I pay attention to it. Like I said, it just makes really good headlines and juicy gossip to some people. But for me, this is my family.”

Once, in an interview with Firstpost, Reena Roy talked about her ex-boyfriend, Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, who has a striking resemblance with her. The iconic actress termed it as a ‘quirk of destiny’ and cited the example of Jeetendra’s mother. Reena Roy stated that her mother shared an uncanny resemblance with Jeetendra’s mom. She said:

“Wahin na, yeh zindagi ke ittefaq hote hain (these are the quirks of destiny). Jeetuji’s mother and my mother look like twins sisters.”

For the uninitiated, after Shatrughan Sinha’s marriage to Poonam Chandiramani, Reena Roy fell in love with Pakistani cricketer, Mohsin Khan.
