Mary Louise (Meryl) Streep is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history.
With a record-breaking 21 Academy Award nominations (winning three), 33 Golden Globe nominations (winning eight), a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the prestigious AFI Life Achievement Award, she is the queen of Hollywood.
Some of the biggest names in Hollywood have spoken about being star-struck in her presence, and it’s no wonder when you consider the breadth of her acting skills and her more than 100 film, television and stage credits.

It seems Streep’s award-winning talent may be hereditary, with her four children all following in her footsteps.
Henry Wolfe, Mary Willa (Mamie) Gummer, Grace Jane Ronson and Louisa Jacobson Gummer have all made names for themselves in the limelight.

Meryl’s role as a mother
Despite her immense star power, Streep has managed to live a relatively normal personal life, according to author Karina Longworth.
After losing her first husband John Cazale to lung cancer, Streep married sculptor Don Gummer. The pair share four children, who they raised between Connecticut and Los Angeles before separating in 2018.
Streep has taken great pride in keeping her family life private which is a lesson she learned from her Out of Africa costar Robert Redford.

“[He] taught me that when they were babies. ‘They are not your props’,” she told Good Housekeeping.
“I really admired the way her protected his family. It’s something I consciously emulated.”
Henry Wolfe
The eldest of Streep’s four children is Henry Wolfe, the only one of her children not to pursue a career in acting.
At first it seemed he would follow in his famous mother’s footsteps after initially enrolling in New York University’s Tisch School of the Art. But he dropped out after two years and pursued a career in music instead.

He initially made is mark in the music industry as the co-founder of the New York indie pop band Bravo Silva but then moved on to perform as a solo act.
Two of his songs have featured in his mum’s movies, including Rickie and the Flash and Julie and Julia.
Outside of his music career, Henry has been married to his wife Tamryn Storm Hawker since 2019 and welcomed two children into the world daughter Ida and son Quinn.
Mary Willa (Mamie) Gummer
Streep welcomed her second child and eldest daughter Mamie Gummer into the world in 1983.
Unlike her elder brother, Mamie has felt an affinity for acting and pursued a career in film and television.
Her first acting role was at the age of three where she starred alongside Streep in Heartburn. She also starred alongside her mum in The Hoax and Evening.
Independent of her mum, Mamie has gone on to find success with credits in several television shows including appearances in several series, including The Good Wife, The Good Fight and True Detective.

Career aside, Mamie is married to producer and writer Megan Sethi, with whom she shares a son.
She was previously married to actor Ben Walker before they separated in 2013.
Grace Jane Ronson
Meryl’s daughter Grace joined the family in 1986.
The now 38-year-old attended her Streep’s alma mater Vassar College to obtain a degree in art history and Italian.

During her studies, she became involved with the the school’s theatre group and spent time pursuing her interests in costume and fashion design.
After school, she decided to pursue a career in acting. The early stages of her career saw her take on theatre roles and small screen roles.

In 2011 she won the Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut in the 2011 production of Arcadia. Her well-known television roles have included The Newsroom and American Horror Story: Freak Show.
In her personal life, Grace married musician Tay Strathairn, but the pair divorced after a short (42-day) marriage.
She is now married to musician and record producer Mark Ronson, with whom she welcomed her first child in 2022.

Louisa Jacobson Gummer
The youngest of Streep’s children is daughter Louisa Jacobson.
Following in the footsteps of her mother and older sister Grace, Louisa also attended Vassar, obtaining a psychology degree before gaining a master’s degree in fine arts from Yale School of Drama and attending the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.
The now-33-year-old commenced her career on stage taking on several theatre roles, including as Mary Dalton in a Yale Repertory Theatre’s production of Nambi E. Kelley’s Native Son and as Juliet in The Old Globe’s production of Romeo and Juliet.

Her screen debut came only recently as she starred in the HBO period drama series The Gilded Age. Her role in the period drama has seen her nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Jacobson recently made headlines as she hard-launched her relationship with her girlfriend on Instagram.
She posted a selfie with her girlfriend Anna Blundell, writing: “blessed to be entering the Joyful New Era bb”. In the caption she also included a red heart and rainbow flag emoji as she came out as queer to her 50,000 followers.
