Tearful Derek Hough Dedicates Emmy Get to Wife Hayley Amid Recovery

Derek Hough deserves a best 10 for his transferring award display speech.

The Dancing With the Stars choose was introduced to tears at the Inventive Arts Emmys on Jan. 7 when reflecting on his spouse Hayley Erbert‘s latest health journey.

“Specifically a thirty day period back I was in the hospital. This is a unique instant,” Hough stated, for each Deadline, while accepting his award for Outstanding Choreography. “A daily life-switching instant reminded me to truly savor just about every instant.”

Erbert underwent emergency surgery after getting “disoriented” during the couple’s Dec. 6 Symphony of Dance tour functionality in Washington, D.C. Days later, the dancer experienced a second successful operation on her skull and has been recovering ever given that.

“What a stark distinction this has been,” Hough, who gained the Emmy—his fourth total—for generating a DWTS schedule to Michael Buble‘s “Better,” ongoing. “I just flew in from Washington, DC, last night time.”
